Good News!!

The main clubhouse toilets are going to be refurbished in July over a period of approx. four weeks, cubicles will be replaced, fittings modernised and fixtures updated.

Total donations for the refurbishment of the toilets continue to grow - we have now raised nearly £1800 from you the membership. Thank you to all those who have contributed but we are very eager to try and raise even more and I would ask those of you who have not yet donated to please consider doing so. We are trying to raise as much of the cost of the project as possible. We have a grant from the Rugby Football Foundation of £5000 and £500 from the Cornwall RFU so in total, so far, we have raised £7300. We want to get that figure to £10,000 if we can. Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received.

May I say a very big thank you to all of those of you who have already contributed and now once again appeal to others who have not yet done so to donate to the project. Whether you have children currently at the club or in the past, whether you played as a child or an adult, whether you are a non-playing member, it matters not. We all have fond memories of this club and we all want it to thrive in the future.

All contributions, of any size, will be gratefully received. Our aim is still to try and raise the £12,000 cost of the project from donations and sponsorship. So, I repeat my plea from my last email and ask that if you work for a company which may feel they wish to provide sponsorship for this project or you know of a company that might do so, please email me with contact details. However, the Board’s great dream is that we can raise the remaining funds from lots of small contributions from members of the club. As I said last time, in a club which has approximately 400 members, if all of them gave just £20 each it would raise £8000 towards the project. At the bottom of this email are the club’s bank account details and also an address to which cheques can be sent. If you are an income tax payer, we can also claim the gift aid on your donation which makes every £10 donated by you worth £12 to the club. The club has the resources to complete this project but there are many other projects we wish to undertake and if we can raise the remainder of the cost of the toilet refurbishment from you, the membership, it will allow us to improve the club in other ways too.

Truro RFC is and always has been a vital and active part of the local community. Please help us to ensure that it continues to be so.
