Welcome to Truro RFC
On behalf of everyone at Truro Rugby Club, a warm welcome to all our players, parents, coaches, volunteers and supporters as we look ahead to a new season. Whether you're returning for another year or joining us for the very first time, we're delighted to have you as part of the club.
At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to the youth game. Our junior and mini sections are the lifeblood of the club, and we remain dedicated to giving every young player, whatever their age, ability or background, the chance to learn, grow and enjoy their rugby in a safe, welcoming and well-supported environment. Developing confident, capable young people matters to us just as much as developing good rugby players. A key component to this is following the England Rugby guidance on safeguarding our young players.
Our commitment to young people is underpinned by the values the game is built on: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. These aren't just words on a wall. They shape how we play, how we train, how we treat our opponents and match officials, and how we conduct ourselves on and off the pitch. We ask every member of our club, players and parents alike, to carry these values with them throughout the season, when visiting other clubs, on a coach or back at our home ground.
Of course, rugby is about far more than what happens on the pitch, and the social side of the club is every bit as important. We're pleased to confirm that our programme of social events for players and parents will continue throughout the season, including Gladiators, our annual Fun Day, T1 events, and a range of match-day experiences. These occasions are a fantastic way to bring our rugby family together, welcome new faces, and celebrate everything that makes Truro Rugby Club such a special place to be.
We have a full fixtures list in place across all age groups, and more details on the season to follow soon.
New season registration starts on 1st July; you will receive information and updates from the RFU about this. Please don’t register or purchase a membership before this date, as the rugby membership calendar is now aligned to this date!
You will notice membership has increased slightly. This has been a difficult decision for us as we don’t want to increase our fees. Unfortunately, in these challenging times, the cost of utilities, equipment and pitch maintenance costs have risen dramatically, alongside the ongoing upkeep and refurbishment of the clubhouse, which means we have been unable to maintain current fees as we have for the last 2 years.
We have 20 teams and have played more rugby than any other club at Truro RFC during the past season in a valiant effort to get the game on!
We will run a membership discount for players from 1st July to 1st August of 10%. If any family is feeling challenged by the cost of rugby, please contact us, and we can help you. We want everyone to be able to play rugby.
Finally, a reminder that we are a volunteer-led organisation. If you would like to get involved, have a bit of free time or feel that your skill set could benefit the club, please respond to this email. On top of people to help out on match days for youth and senior games, we are looking for someone to help grow the membership of the club and help develop our sponsorship, brand and marketing areas.
Thank you for your continued support. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to welcome everyone back.
